Celebrating the Teachers Who Help Children Learn and Thrive
Honoring the educators connected with HealthEd Connect programs on World Teachers’ Day (October 5th)
At Kasompe Community School of Peace, educators create opportunities for children to discover new ideas, practice emerging skills, and experience the joy of success.
Behind every child who learns to read, solve a math problem, or confidently share a new idea is a teacher who made that moment possible. This World Teachers’ Day, we celebrate the dedicated educators connected with HealthEd Connect programs who help children build the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to thrive.
From Zambia’s Copperbelt region, where HealthEd Connect sponsors three community primary schools in Mapalo, Zamtan, and Kasompe, to Malawi, where Sinkhani community health volunteers devote their time to teaching in community nursery schools and preparing children under five to enter government schools, educators play a vital role in our programs. They nurture curiosity in preschool, strengthen literacy and math skills in the upper primary grades, and help children develop confidence and problem-solving abilities. Although each education program responds to its community’s unique needs, HealthEd Connect teachers share a common commitment: they create welcoming classrooms where each student feels cared for, encourage students through challenges and support each learner’s growth and development.
At the preschool held at Mulundu Center in Luapula District in Zambia, preschool teachers nurture curiosity and help establish a strong foundation during children’s earliest years of learning.
Across Malawi, Sinkhani (community health volunteer) nursery school teachers volunteer in community nursery schools. Because they live and serve in the communities they know best, these teachers help bring early learning closer to children and families.
To every teacher connected with HealthEd Connect programs: thank you for your patience, dedication, and belief in every child. Your work opens doors, strengthens communities, and helps young learners imagine what is possible. On World Teachers’ Day—and every day—we celebrate you.
